Royal violette

Before Pulp Fiction and the Royal with Cheese, France was ruled by another sovereign - the kir royal. Although quotes about this drink are not recited the world over, it still holds its own as a cult classic. The kir royal, unlike a regular kir, is served with champagne and not with white wine. My opinion on the subject is: "Why drink wine when you can have champagne?".
So what kind of a spin do you put on something that has been seducing the masses since the mid-1940's? You put a violet spin on it.

Kir royal à la violette
6 tablespoons of crème violette
1 bottle chilled champagne
Pour 1 tablespoon of crème violette in the bottom of each flute.
Top with champagne and toast!
Note: The crème violette has a very strong flavor and only needs to be used sparingly.

Wow! Very cool photo. The munchkin and I just finished reading The Boxcar Children (the first of many readings.) Her favorite part was when they picked cherries.
The swirl of the creme violette in the champagne is beautiful. What a gorgeous color. Great photo.
