Meg, I'm so glad to hear that the cake came out well and was a hit! I have to admit that sometimes when I'm throwing something like this together on a whim, my measurements are not always 100% sure. So it is nice to hear some feedback! Great idea for the chive flowers!!

And the cake was a hit! The frosting was a bit loose, but it covered the cake and then we dressed it up with violets and chive blossoms. My friends run a B&B and are looking at it as a potential breakfast side.

Wow, a friend sent me this site and I decided to give the cake a shot for tonight's music fest. it is cooling right now, but I am looking at some creamcheese, yogurt and shive blossoms out in the yard and thinking of "Frosting" and decorating the cake as well.

Yeah, I have always thought that to be one of those "Oops, the French finally did something wrong back in the 70s, but no one mentionned it until the 90s". There have been some outrageous combos outhere but Sophie Dudemaine really helped with making savory cakes a meal staple.
